Holiday Season Must-Haves: Garland, Bells, & Ribbon

I am so excited that it is officially acceptable to decorate for Christmas, it is my absolute favorite time to decorate my home. It feels so cozy, so warm, and just so beautiful. As the Holidays approach, there are three things that are absolute must-haves in my opinion, and they always sell out so quickly every year—garland, bells, and ribbon. I have rounded up my favorite, tried and true can’t miss in all three categories, and have them all here for you to reference.

Let’s dive into the details a bit. For garland, my fave of all time is the Cypress Garland from Crate and Barrel. It is a splurge, but it is so full, so realistic, and looks so good everywhere. I use it on my mantel every year. The viral “Norfolk” garland is my favorite for staircases, mirrors, and consoles. It has the best drape and is really beautiful. It is also more affordable, there is many reasons this one is viral. It is just so good. The cedar garland in my roundup is a great compliment to the Norfolk, and they look so good mixed together. Finally, the Hemlock garland from Purple Rose home. This is the first season I will have this garland and I can’t wait to try it out. It is so full, very realistic and I love the added pinecones. My decor this year is a little more rustic and this will be a great addition to my garland collection.

Now let’s talk about Bells. Bells are such an easy way to decorate almost anything for the Holidays. They look amazing set on a table or shelf. Hung on a wreath, or staircase is so charming, and I always add them to my front door. I love hearing the jingle anytime a guest comes to visit. Something so nostalgic about them. A seasonal decor favorite for a reason.

Finally, let’s chat about ribbons. Not only can you use ribbon on your gifts, but it looks amazing on trees, wreaths, garlands, staircases, etc. Size does matter here—for my tree I usually like to use 1” or smaller. Wreaths are usually 1” or bigger. The smaller sizes are perfect for gifts, trees, chair wreaths, etc. I even like to use 3/8” on my tree too. I like to use different sizes on my tree for visual interest. I love ribbon and find myself tying pretty bows on almost everything. I have a tutorial for tying the perfect bow over on IG, be sure to check that out here.

Decorating my home for the Holidays sure brings me a lot of joy, and I hope this blog post helps you to find different and unique ways to use some of my seasonal favorites.

xoxo, Bonnie
